Adopt a Pet
Dr. William Mitchell is a veterinarian in Fannin County, Georgia. During the past four years, his practice has grown to include caring for neglected sick and injured animals, providing annual vaccinations, working with several animal rescue groups in the area, and trying to find homes for animals that have been abandoned. Many of the residents whose animals he helps cannot afford to pay for his services and Dr. Mitchell has funded the expenses of the clinic.

In 2006, he was nominated as a candidate for Animal Planet's Hero of the Year Award for his selfless dedication to the sick and neglected animals of North Georgia and Southeast Tennessee. I have had the privilege of working with Dr. Mitchell in his clinic and have seen his profound dedication to the animals he treats. I have never met someone who is as kind and giving to animals. Without his help, many of them would have suffered or died.
After personally funding the clinic for four years, Dr. Mitchell is in need of your assistance. The Copper Basin Vet Clinic is in need of the following items: money, dog and cat food, litter, newspapers, towels and blankets to provide for the abandoned animals that otherwise might not receive the help that is necessary to save them.
Dr. Mitchell has set up a fund for your contributions. The fund is in memory of Sadie, a sweet, long-haired grey kitten, who was housed and treated for neurological problems. In the course of her treatment, I became attached to her and planned to give her a home when she recovered. In spite of the efforts to save her, she did not survive. I've thought about her many times, and the idea of establishing a fund has echoed in my mind. She has become symbolic of the animals that are suffering and in need our help.
I am featuring Dr. Mitchell's adoptees on my website in the hope that some of you may want to adopt or know someone who was thinking about adopting a dog or cat. The animals that are up for adoption are spayed or neutered and have their current vaccinations. They are ready for a loving home.
The telephone number of the Copper Basin Vet Clinic is 706-492-4234. It is located at 163 East Tennessee Street, McCaysville, Georgia, 30555. Please call for additional information.
I personally pledge a donation of fifty dollars at each closing as a contribution toward helping Dr. Mitchell in his commitment to help animals that are in need. Please help me us make this world a better place for all needy creatures big and small.
